The Rally That Started It All
Long before chrome was king and rallies became mega-festivals, there was Laconia. In 1916, a few hundred riders gathered at Weirs Beach, New Hampshire, for a “Gypsy Tour” — a weekend of riding, racing, and camaraderie. By 1917, the Federation of American Motorcyclists had officially sanctioned it, making Laconia the oldest national motorcycle rally in the U.S.
Now, over a century later, Laconia Motorcycle Week is still roaring strong. From June 14–22, 2025, the 102nd edition will once again draw tens of thousands of riders to the scenic shores of Lake Winnipesaukee. It’s not just a rally — it’s a living museum of American motorcycling.
What Makes Laconia Legendary
The Loudon Classic
Founded in 1934, the Loudon Classic is one of the oldest motorcycle races in the U.S. Held at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway, it’s a must-see for racing fans. The event has evolved over the years but remains a cornerstone of Laconia Motorcycle Week.
Gunstock Hill Climb
On June 18, 2025, riders will tackle the historic 70-meter ski jump at Gunstock Mountain Resort. It’s a spectacle of skill and grit, with some making it to the top and others not — but all earning respect.
Live Music & Vendor Villages
From classic rock bands to local artisans, the streets of Laconia come alive with sound and color. Vendor villages offer everything from custom parts to vintage gear, making it a paradise for enthusiasts.
Scenic Rides
New Hampshire offers some of the best riding in the country. Whether it’s the Kancamagus Highway or the White Mountains, the routes are as thrilling as they are beautiful.
A Rally for Everyone
Laconia has seen it all — from its early days as a modest gathering to its evolution into a week-long celebration of motorcycle culture. It’s a place where history and modernity coexist, offering something for every rider.
